This new 4 CE credit hour workshop is designed to equip physical therapy and occupational therapy professionals with an in-depth understanding of how type 2 diabetes and prediabetes affect patients' physical health and function. Through evidence-informed knowledge, rehab clinicians will gain insights into the impact of these conditions on movement, mobility, healing, balance, and more, plus learn how to integrate management strategies into their clinical practice.

Objectives

By the completion of this workshop you will be able to correctly:

  1. Understand the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes and prediabetes and how these conditions impact physical function and mobility.
  2. Identify the signs, symptoms, and complications related to diabetes and prediabetes that influence rehabilitation.
  3. Develop strategies to assess and treat musculoskeletal and neurological issues that are common in rehab patients with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.
  4. Advocate for lifestyle modifications (activity, exercise, diet, etc.) as part of a comprehensive care plan for patients with diabetes and prediabetes.
  5. Understand the role of physical therapy and occupational therapy in preventing the progression from prediabetes to diabetes.

Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically, including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.

Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will not be responsible for any charges incurred by the registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other than the CE event tuition.
