VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE MEETS ILLINOIS REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE)
Virtual attendance is always a great option! Our virtual courses and workshops are
designed to be interactive and engaging, not boring listen-only "live" webinars.
Attendees respond to polls, add comments in the chat, and participate in discussions.
Questions can be answered immediately, no need to wait for a short Q&A session after
lunch or at the end of the class. Plus Rehab Connections' virtual labs are unique
in the virtual CE market by providing live, real time instructions and cues by
1-2 lab instructors during therapeutic exercises and functional activities. After
labs or other activities attendees enjoy sharing their experiences in the chat or
just talking together. Plus virtual attendance is convenient, saves travel time and
expense for you, and reduces emissions for our planet.
With virtual attendance as approved continuing education for PT professionals in Illinois,
you can receive credit for a live course when participating from
another location such as your home or clinic.
Approved continuing education in the Administrative Code of the Illinois OT Practice Act includes:
REQUIREMENTS OF VIRTUAL ATTENDEES
During registration, you will show your photo ID to your computer camera
and Zoom video.
To earn full CE credit for virtual attendance at a Rehab Connections live
CE event, you will be expected to participate using the Zoom chat or
"raising hand" function at least once an hour. Virtual attendees are also
expected to be visible in the video 40 minutes of every hour. After lunch
and near the end of the course or workshop, you will be prompted to
enter something into the chat to reconfirm your live attendance.
Completion of the course or workshop evaluation is to be completed online
using the link in the course materials email.
Technology requirements: Zoom can be used on any device or PC from
anywhere and connects quickly. For full participation, on your PC or
tablet you will need a webcam or camera and a microphone that Zoom can
access. Earbuds or headphones and a microphone are recommended to utilize
the audio option.
Also depending on the course or workshop, you will need to have specific items
available. These will be listed in your course or workshop material email and may
include such things as books, floor space and mat, tape measure, or foods with nutrition
labels.
A full day course using virtual attendance most likely will require
recharging a mobile device during the course so keeping your mobile
device plugged in is highly recommended when you are stationary.
PROCEDURES
You do not need to have a Zoom account to utilize Zoom.
Virtual attendees will receive a Zoom meeting invitation in the course
materials email. Registering in Zoom on your device
prior to the course or workshop is recommended.
A Rehab Connections clinician or aide will be a virtual host during the
course or workshop to provide technical support, control audio,
facilitate discussion, respond to chat questions, and various other
activities. Chats and communication with the presenter/instructor and
other attendees will be saved digitally as documentation that
participants were able to communicate in real time during the live
presentation.
