Osteoarthritis

  A Clinical Practice Update

Presented by Rehab Connections

Description

How can PT/OT help decrease symptoms, potentially minimize progression of degenerative changes, and support other nondrug therapies and self-care in our patients and clients with osteoarthritis?

This new virtual workshop focuses on selected lower extremity joints that are common sites of osteoarthritis. According to the CDC, OA affects 32.5 million US adults, and OA is the most common type of arthritis according to the Arthritis Foundation. During rehabilitation, clinicians address what aggravates and alleviates symptoms to restore normal ADL function, however they also can play a key role to help determine possible factors that contribute to joint disease and help prevent further degeneration.

In an interactive, fast-paced, virtual learning experience, clinicians will be introduced to current perspectives and new guidelines in the management of osteoarthritis that may include many “ah ha” moments as we connect the dots to optimize our patients’ function and minimize pain.
