Description

Simple can be successful! By including basic nutrition information in a holistic approach to rehabilitation of patients and clients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, clinicians can improve a patient's compliance and response to therapy. This new virtual workshop is interactive and engaging with Q&A, small group discussions, polls, and quizzes. Short virtual labs will allow you to complete activities that you can later include in patient education for optimal functional outcomes.

Objectives

By the completion of the course the participant will be able to:

  1. Recognize common patient problems/impairments that may benefit from basic nutrition information to help improve function.
  2. Identify whole food sources of key macronutrients, micronutrients, and phytonutrients.
  3. Discuss the importance of chewing food and hydration for optimal nutritional benefits.
  4. Provide basic nutrition education and support to facilitate restoration of function.

This course is relevant to the advancement, extension and enhancement of providing patient/client management, including but not limited to physical therapy examination, evaluation, intervention, and prevention and providing physical therapy services or fulfilling the other professional roles of a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. (See Illinois Physical Therapy Act, Administrative Code, section 1340.61)

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically, including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.

Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will not be responsible for any charges incurred by the registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other than the CE event tuition.
